An excellent brand for quality omega 3 August 13, 2010

I have macular degeneration which makes my eyes very dry but I've found that large quantities of omega 3 taken daily almost entirely eliminates the problem without having to use eyedrops. There are many brands that make products with the correct amount of omega (this being one of them); I've tried many brands, both capsules and liquid varieties, and most of them seem to noticeably lose their effectiveness within a week or two of opening the container. For whatever reason, I've had the best results with this brand (equal effectiveness throughout the entire month's worth of product) so I've stuck with it.
Please note that all oils go bad over time unless kept in a cool dark place so you should store this product in your refrigerator.

This omega 3 product is fish-oil based, screened for mercury/heavy metals. Large gel caps but narrow width so they're easy to swallow. Good price for this quantity and content. The seller was prompt with emails and provided a tracking number, however, the shipment arrived quickly so I didn't need to check up on tracking. :)
2 of these provide the recommended over 500mg/day of EPA for brain (depression, ADD, Alzheimers) and general heart health. [If you have heart disease, however, you may need twice as much or more, so you really want to check with your physician about dosing, bleeding risks, and other medications before taking more; also a different formulation may be more cost effective for you.] If you have reflux or GERD, you may have the occasional "fishy" burp. I don't think there's any way around that with omega 3 oils, but the benefits outweigh this issue. Some people may prefer a capsule to salmon, sardines, and tuna 3 times a week. :}
